Anne Drodge from Dorset

Anne Drodge was one of Ari’s 7x great-grandmothers. Her baptism took place in Christchurch, Dorset, on 3 August 1755, but the record does not give her mother’s name, only her father’s: Joseph. Anne had an older sister, Elizabeth, and brother, William.

Just before Christmas in 1778, Anne married Asher Butt in the Priory, Christchurch. Her brother William was one of the witnesses.

They had seven children.

Anne lived until the age of eighty-three, dying in 1838.
